A 25 pound block of Leach porcelain (right) is suspended in about five liters of water to form the white slip.
About 150 grams of red iron oxide (above) is suspended in about 325 milliliters of water and then mixed with about 1.5 Liters of white slip to form the dark slip.		Shavings (left) from previous work are suspended in water to form the medium slip. All slip (white, medium, and dark) are passed through 100 mesh screen.
	From the slip (left) 40 tints of red iron oxide ranging from very light #1 to very dark #40 are made and contained in slip trailing bottles (right).
