Solemnity is one of the most recent finished piece in the Cuboctahedral Style. Its name captures the quietude of ideal symmetry reflected in each of its geometric design elements. Looking closely at its surface, each triangle and square undulates only slightly. Solemnity's bold white triangles and clean lines dominate the rich and chaotic interiors of its cuboctahedral design elements. Its lid is cut along the dimension of divine proportion or "phi," a "golden" ratio used lavishly in the days of ancient Greece and during the Renaissance for the most beautiful divisions in their architecture and art, early attempts to mimic the mathematical ratios found in the beautiful growth patterns of nature's finest specimins - shells, flowers and the human body. Solemnity's diameter of three inches allows it to fit perfectly in the palm of the hand.
