Tiny and whimsical with chocolate brown squares dancing around its curvacious exterior, Petrouchka is named for one of the most endearing characters in the history of ballet. Petrouchka, as awkward as he was effervescent, as spirited and dignified as he was forlorn, was the puppet with the human heart. Vaslav Nijinski was the first to dance Petrouchka to the music of Igor Stravinsky in Michel Fokine's Russian ballet of 1911.
