Spheres of Pythagoras

Sappho 6th Century BCE
Sappho was regarded as one of the greatest of ancient lyric poets. Plato called her the “Tenth Muse” because of her association with the God, Apollo, her musical poetry that was performed with the accompaniment of the lyre. Although Sappho was a few decades older than Pythagoras, she is thought to have met him during his travels on the island of Lesbos. The harmony of the spheres as taught by Pythagoras was expressed through the music and poetry of Sappho.
