Spheres of Pythagoras

Themistoclea 6th Century BCE
In early Greece, women had as much freedom and privilege as men. Historians note that there may have been at least as many women as men in Pythagoras’ school. Themistoclea, the Prophetess of Delphi, was one of Pythagoras’ most important teachers. Most of the moral, ethical doctrines he taught were obtained directly from her.
